A stunning piece of lino with a nice idea working with religion and aliens. Two things struck me about this piece. The first was the use of lines to create texture, shading and patterns such as the tree trunk or Jesus’ beard. The second was how light has been represented in the piece. The beam of light coming down grabs the eye and creates a fantastic composition of the piece. It makes you focus on the main character on the image but also means that you miss what is happening in the background on first glance, which is definitely not a bad thing in this case. Having the surrounding image very dark also frames the image and Jesus.
