Deanne Cheuk http://www.deannecheuk.com I absolutely love this one colour screen print by Deanne Cheuk. I really enjoy patterns and geometry so this piece was right up my street. The patterns vary from thin strokes to block fills which contrast nicely and create this impression of layers on top of each other. The use of triangles move you down to the rest of the piece but then introducing diamonds creates an almost distorted feel which makes you stop and look. The style, using triangles and diamonds, seems relevant with current fashion trends which seem to have adapted an aztec pattern feel. The whitespace around the image is essential to this images success as it frames the pattern nicely and also prevents you from being completely overwhelmed.
